(Some) Extinction Is (Not Necessarily) Forever: Video of My TEDx talk

What would it take to bring back an extinct turtle, or a long-gone mammoth? Thanks to the folks at TED for posting the video of my talk about my story in the April issue of National Geographic, embedded below.

(TEDxDeExtinction will be posting the videos of the rest of the talks from the meeting over the course of the next few weeks.)

  1. I never thought of bring back a species on the verge of extinction. I merely thought scientists were trying to bring back mammoths or saber tooth tigers. I feel I understand why this research is so important. Thank you.

  2. Of course it is worth asking whether it is really financially feasible to revive extinct species when money might be spent better in preserving current biodiversity and preventing further loss via extinctions.
