Besides being one of the truly nicest guys in a highly-competitive field, his story reminds of an earlier time in U.S. science where truly audacious risks were taken and mentoring was as important as the science. I&#039;m was so fortunate to be able to speak with his own mentors, still active scientists in their 80s.]]></description>
